August 2025

Dear Parents,

We are pleased to inform you that Eastlake High School currently offers a Consolidated Schoolwide Title I Program, as required by Section 1116 of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015. Title I is a federally funded program based on the income levels of families whose children attend Title I schools. Its purpose is to ensure that all students have the support necessary to meet high academic standards.

Schoolwide Title I resources assist schools with a high percentage of low-income families, providing services to all students within the school. In alignment with our needs assessment and school Unified Improvement Plan (UIP), the Consolidated Schoolwide Title I program combines local, state, and federal funds to provide additional instructional support. These resources may include interventions, evening academic services, extended instructional time, enrichment opportunities, and enhanced professional development for staff. We believe this model allows us to provide your child with the best possible education.

Title I Annual Meeting & Your Rights as a Parent

As required by law, our school will hold an annual Title I Parent Meeting on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Additionally, you have the right to request additional meetings at alternative times. Please contact our school office for more information.

As a parent of a student at Eastlake High School, you also have the right to request information regarding the qualifications of your child’s classroom teacher, as mandated by Section 1112 of the Every Student Succeeds Act. You may request details about:

  • Whether the teacher meets the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) licensing criteria for their assigned grade level and subject.
  • Whether the teacher is teaching under any special circumstances that allow them to instruct without full state licensure.
  • Whether the teacher is instructing in their certified subject area.
  • The qualifications of any paraprofessionals or aides who assist in the classroom.

To obtain this information, please contact Tamara Forrest at 719-520-2372 or tamara.forrest@d11.org.

State Assessment Opt-Out Information

Federal law allows families to opt their child out of state assessment testing. If you would like details on this process, please reach out to our school office.

Parent & Family Engagement Opportunities

As part of our Consolidated Schoolwide Title I Program, we offer expanded opportunities for you to engage in your child's education. Throughout the school year, we will host Parent & Family Engagement Activities, and we warmly encourage your participation. You are always welcome to visit our school, attend parent-teacher conferences, and communicate with teachers and staff regarding any questions or concerns you may have.

For additional resources on parent involvement, visit the Colorado Parent Involvement Resource Center. (http://coparentcoalition.org/)

Together, we can ensure a rewarding and successful school year for your child.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Cassandra "C.J." Berry (she/her), Principal
