Alisa King

My name is Alisa King and I am excited to embark on this new journey here at Eastlake High School. I
am born and raised from Birmingham, Alabama. I received my Special Education certification in Mild
Learning/Behavioral Disabilities from Alabama A&M University in Normal, Alabama. I have over 20 years
of experience working with students K-12 th grade and adults. I have worked in elementary (K-5 th ), middle
level (6 th -8 th ), secondary (9 th -12 th ), residential facility, and at Glenwood in the adult program.
My philosophy revolves around creating a student-centered atmosphere where every student feels
valued, respected, and supported. I believe that each student is unique and has their own set of
strengths, abilities, and learning style. I am committed to ensure a successful and rewarding academic
school year.
Outside of education, I’m a wife, a big sports fan in football (college/NFL), basketball, (college/NBA), I
have a bucket list of some exciting things to explore/visit, and crocheting.
