Yaa Sakyi

Family Advocate

Yaa Sakyi is the Family Advocate who serves as the liaison between students, families, and outside agencies. She provides support to students who experience difficulties, assists students with learning new behavioral skills, develops self-confidence, and becomes more aware of how others view them. She and the students discuss how to practice new behaviors, and how to deal with the many problems life presents.

Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of anxiety? or, if you find it difficult to make friends and experience loneliness regularly as a result, come talk to me. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build meaningful social connections.

Yaa Sakyi grew up in Ghana, West Africa, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, Graphic Design. She moved to the United States and completed her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Alaska Fairbank. She then moved to Colorado Springs in 2016 and has had the privilege of serving the community since then. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, loves to sing and enjoys nature and the great Colorado outdoors.
