Eastlake High School Is Remote Until January, 2021

Dear Parents, guardians and students,

Here at Eastlake High School, the safety of everyone that walks into our building is priority number one. In order to keep everyone safe, we have been watching the health trends in El Paso County very closely. We have stayed in touch with other schools within District 11 and other districts in Colorado Springs, and we have reached out to other charter schools to check on trends. Using all of this information has led us to conclude that the best way to keep everyone safe at Eastlake HS is to stay remote throughout the remainder of 2020. This would mean a return to in person learning in January, 2021, per our school calendar.

To make sure you have as much information as possible, we also want you to know what is going on at Eastlake HS. We have had multiple positive results among staff. Our School Nurse, Ms. Monique Boyle, has been and will continue to reach out to any students that have been exposed. If you are not sure if you have missed her call, please feel free to email her at mboyle@eastlakehs.net to receive more information.

Please keep in mind, we are dedicated to providing your student(s) with the best educational journey as possible. However, we must keep safety as our driving force. We want to be in person, and we want everyone to be safe. Right now, both cannot be accomplished at the same time. So remote learning is our best solution.

Always know that you can reach out to me directly. My email is cjberry@eastlakehs.net. My work cell phone number is (719)246-7255. I am available 8-5, however, if you need to meet with me outside of those times, I am flexible – just email me and we can set something up.

You can also reach out to your student(s) teachers. All staff emails are listed on our website and our Facebook page.

We are here for you. We are here for your student(s). We are here! We will make it through this!

Sincerely,

Cassandra Berry
